We first started working with the Kew team in 2022, following our appointment through an open tender process. We joined forces with our sister agency Williams Commerce to deliver a server migration project for the online shop.
This saw our team oversee a move to Microsoft Azure for hosting, collaborating with the IT staff at Kew. We were also able to adapt to an atypical setup and overcome compliance challenges to successfully migrate the online shop to Azure hosting.
Following the project’s success, we entered another open procurement process for additional services and were selected (as part of Williams Commerce) to deliver a new redevelopment project, as well as a business-as-usual (BAU) digital retainer where our team will deliver ongoing support services.
The Kew shop previously ran on the Magento 2 Open Source platform. As part of the new redevelopment project, we are working to migrate the online shop website to Adobe Commerce Cloud. In addition to this, hosting will be moved to the Adobe Commerce Cloud solution.
The redevelopment project is a vast and complex piece of work, which we are delivering in three releases over the course of 24 months. This includes some groundbreaking elements, such as the introduction of a single basket experience for users on the RBG Kew website.
As part of the new BAU retainer, we are delivering hosting and infrastructure services, support and maintenance, and monitoring and incident reporting work each month.
Other services included in the new retainer are development work and account management services.
We have built a positive relationship with RBG Kew over the past few months and are delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue to help this organisation make major enhancements in the digital space.
Being able to continue to grow our relationship with RBG Kew through the new development project and ongoing digital retainer is a real joy. Our work with their team to date has been highly successful and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds in terms of delivering in line with Kew’s overall vision for their ecommerce shop.
